What is Every Human’s Journey?
Every Human’s Journey™ (EHJ) is a clinically and experientially informed program that blends Jungian psychology and Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, a structured 12-step model, and the power of our inner narratives. This unique framework helps individuals navigate personal growth, leadership, recovery, relationships, and rehabilitation by providing understandable language and concepts in a conceptual narrative through an approachable self-exploration.
EHJ can be experienced in a guided group environment or as a self-directed practice (coming soon). Whether you engage through a group experience or personal reflection, EHJ helps you explore your inner world, build a language for personal and relational growth, and reframe life’s challenges as essential steps in your transformation. Through this process, you’ll cultivate deeper self-awareness, resilience, and a renewed sense of meaning and autonomy in your own story.
“Every Human’s Journey stands as an innovative and brilliant roadmap for authentic self-discovery in today’s fragmented world.“

Dr. Schweitzer, Sierra Counseling & Coaching
🥣 How Every Human’s Journey Works
Every Human’s Journey™ is built on two fundamental “ingredients“—your personal experience and a common human narrative—combined in an internalizing process that can be explored in self-guided group experiences or independent journaling and meditation.

Ingredient 1: A Subjective, Conscious Holon
You are both a complete individual and an interconnected part of a larger system (i.e. a holon). Humans are finite and create things. We’ll explore Jungian-based psychology to provide language for our inner life. By examining your story, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, you gain deeper self-awareness and develop tools to navigate your personal life.

Ingredient 2: The Hero’s Journey
Stories with heroes often follow a common pattern of challenge, growth, and discovery. By relating your personal experiences with the stages of the Hero’s Journey, first conceptualized by Jospeh Campbell, you can reframe struggles and relationships as natural steps toward growth.

The Mixing Bowl: Interrelational or Intrapersonal Process
True change happens both within and between us. We do this in a group or individually.
EHJ groups foster application, connection, accountability, and shared intrapersonal activities for interrelational exploration. EHJ self-guided journaling for individuals allows for deep intrapersonal exploration, helping a person safely and honestly reflect on and practice principles for their life and relationships.
Whether engaging in solitary reflection or participating in an intentional group experience, Every Human’s Journey provides a path for authentic exploration and change.

Testimonials
What The Beta Group Said
Near the end of 2024, we beta-tested EHJ with a group of men in Missoula, MT.
Here’s what they have to say:
“When I first began with Every Human’s Journey, I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially given my introverted nature. However, the reflections and insights I gained have significantly enriched my daily life.“

Mickey Slick – Montana Tattoo Company
“I’m a school psychologist, and EHJ not only helped me personally understand these principles but also how to use them better for the children and families I serve. It helped in life, relationships, and work.”

Kyle Dyrud – Missoula, MT
Assessing Personal Transformation
Our Measurement Objectives
Every Human’s Journey is dedicated to cultivating real, lasting personal growth.
Our final assessment protocol is actively under development in collaboration with expert Dr. Don Schweitzer.
What We Aim to Measure
Our assessment will focus on evaluating key areas of transformation that EHJ is designed to impact like:
Authenticity & Personal Growth:
Guide participants in navigating challenges and uncovering their true selves by exploring themes of authenticity, self-discovery, and empowerment. This journey encourages alignment with personal values and a deeper understanding of one’s unique path.
Self-Awareness & Common Language
Equip participants with conginitive-behavioral tools to articulate their inner experiences and emotions, fostering self-awareness and creating a shared language for meaningful connection within the group context.
Emotional Regulation & Resilience
Provide strategies to manage emotional responses, reduce reactivity, and build resilience. Participants learn to embrace discomfort as an opportunity for growth, rather than viewing it as an obstacle.
Empathy & Relational Growth:
Encourage participants to practice vulnerability, build trust, and deepen empathy toward themselves and others. This includes developing skills for authentic communication and creating supportive relationships within the group environment.
🧭 The 12-Week Process
The program follows a 12-week cycle based on the Hero’s Journey framework, cognitive behavioral techniques, and step work to guide you through self-discovery and change.
This process helps retrain the mind, challenge limiting beliefs, and integrate new perspectives into your daily experiences.

EHJ Is Just Starting Its Journey
EHJ’s story began as an idea in the spring of 2024 and was beta-tested before the end of the year. We’re just starting and laying the foundation for an accessible, evidence-based program built on self-awareness, authentic connection, and personal growth.

📍 Where Every Human’s Journey Is Now
Every Human’s Journey is in an active test phase, evolving through real experience. We completed a beta group with men, gaining key insights into how participants engage with the process. Then, we edited the original draft curriculum into a Free Group Kit and a coming Journal. Now, we’re expanding into new test groups for men and women, focusing on recovery, rehabilitation, and personal growth.
We’ve implemented two assessments and finalized our first workbook. We’re getting ready to launch test and pilot groups to collect evidence and begin our EHJ journal. This phase is about real-world application, gathering feedback, and building EHJ into a fully developed experience. By joining now, you’re not just participating—you’re helping shape something transformative.
After the final edits, the Free PDF Group Starter Kit will be available here, and the printed EHJ Group Workbook on Amazon. Aside from that, beginning to market and building out the website is on the short list. This will set us up for further plans of online content, resources, and courses further down the road.

Frequently Asked Questions
EHJ’s concept engages with the human subjective Self in an objective context of one’s narrative with cognitive-behavior theory, psychological, and mindfulness approaches. It pulls inspiration from a variety of influences and sources. As such, it’s both simple and a lot of things all at once…kind of like a holon.
Who is EHJ for?
EHJ is designed for every human seeking growth, healing, or deeper self-awareness. It is currently being tested in recovery and rehabilitation settings but is also applicable for:
– Personal development (self-discovery, emotional intelligence, leadership, team building)
– Men/Women/Non-Binary (gender, sexuality, societal norms, family expectations)
– People in transition (major life changes, career changes, identity shifts, existential questioning)
– Therapeutic and community groups (mental health support, faith communities, coaching)
– Recovery & rehabilitation (addiction, trauma, behavioral health programs)
The program is flexible, allowing any individual or group to apply its structure and concepts to their own journey and context.
What is Every Human’s Journey™?
Every Human’s Journey™ (EHJ) is a structured, clinically informed program that blends psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a 12-step model, and the Hero’s Journey framework to guide personal growth. It can be experienced individually (through a coming journal) or in a group setting, providing a structured yet adaptable approach to self-discovery, emotional regulation, growth, and relational connection.
Where did the idea for EHJ come from?
The idea for EHJ came out of doing mental health and healthy masculinity/feminity development, after a long personal journey through recovery. It came out of a personal story and a recognition of what others were struggling with. The idea seemed good, so we made a beta group and tested an early concpet. Then, we shared it with more people who know more about things than we do and kept developing it. Now, we’re here.
IS EHJ a spiritual program?
No…and yes. EHJ respects people’s spiritual journey and integrates with humans where they are. We take an intentional approach to this question. We follow the evidence of psychology, mindfulness, wellness, and neurosciences that implies healthy humans integrate spirituality and science (i.e., their knowledge and understanding of reality).
EHJ is designed to work for atheists, agnostic, religious people, spiritual, and anyone in between. EHJ can be a tool to help a person better understand their perspectives, spirituality, and traditions, as well as being able to better empathize and communicate with others.
How does the 12-week structure work?
The 12-week cycle follows the Hero’s Journey framework, a universal model of transformation found across cultures. Each week explores a different stage of personal change, integrating CBT tools, guided reflection, and journaling exercises to deepen self-awareness and practical application. Participants engage with:
– Self-guided assignments (journaling, reflection, CBT-based exercises)
– Group discussions (optional) to practice shared language and mutual accountability
– Assessments (in development) to track personal insights and progress
The program can be repeated, adapted, or used as a foundation for ongoing growth.
Is EHJ a therapy program?
EHJ is not a replacement for clinical therapy but is built using evidence-based psychological principles. The program integrates CBT techniques, self-reflection exercises, and group processing methods used in therapeutic settings. It can be used alongside therapy, in coaching or mentorship, or as a structured personal growth tool.
Is EHJ evidence-based?
EHJ is a new concept and is not evidence-based, yet. EHJ is built on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative psychology, and interpersonal processing models:
– CBT Techniques: Identifying thought distortions, emotional regulation, and behavior tracking.
– Narrative Therapy Principles: Viewing life experiences through a structured story lens.
– Group Dynamics & Personal Accountability: Encouraging transformation through shared reflection and interpersonal growth.
EHJ is also developing assessments to measure progress and refine the program using real-world data.
How is EHJ different from a traditional 12-step program?
While EHJ integrates a 12-step model of transformation, it is not an addiction-specific program like AA or NA. Instead, EHJ uses a broad, adaptable framework that applies to:
– Identity shifts, personal challenges, and emotional development
– Building self-awareness through journaling and structured reflection
– Deepening empathy and connection in interpersonal relationships
– Understanding and integrating past experiences into a meaningful narrative
EHJ can complement traditional recovery programs but is designed for anyone navigating change.
What does it mean that EHJ is being tested and developed organically?
EHJ is not a pre-packaged, one-size-fits-all program—it is being built through lived experience and real-world testing.
– Beta Phase Completed: A successful men’s test group provided key insights.
– Current Test Groups: EHJ is expanding into recovery, rehabilitation, and personal growth communities.
– Assessment & Refinement: Feedback is refining the model and shaping new resources, evaluation tools, and training materials.
This ensures EHJ remains effective, adaptable, and grounded in real experience.
How does EHJ help people relate to themselves and others?
EHJ helps participants develop a shared language for self-awareness, emotion regulation, and empathy.
– Understanding the “Self” as a conscious holon – a whole being shaped by past experiences, internal struggles, and social dynamics.
– Developing a personal narrative – reframing struggles as part of a larger transformation.
– Building relational skills – practicing vulnerability, deep listening, and mutual support in group discussions or journaling exercises.
By working through these elements, EHJ fosters deeper self-acceptance and meaningful human connection.
Why is EHJ Free?
We believe in this concept and that it can help people. We also want to develop and spread it further. As such, EHJ has chosen a business model that will allow us to give it away while we provide additional and valuable resources as a source of income. We’ll also be exploring other funding options down the road. We understand that if this works, there will be others who take it and run with it. While EHJ is owned, trademarked, and copyrighted by Stigma Marketing & Development, we intend to give the model away as much as possible while being able to actively develop and distribute it.
Interested in joining a Missoula test group or hosting a test group?
We’re currently looking for Men and Women for upcoming Missoula groups. We’re also looking for test groups in leadership, business, recovery, non-binary, faith-based, and other contexts to which this concept could be applied.
