Build Something Real, Right Where You Are

STARTING A GROUP

Starting an EHJ group means taking the first step into a deeper kind of change—one that isn’t about fixing people but about walking with them. Whether you’re part of a community, a recovery program, a team, or just a group of people who want more than surface talk, EHJ gives you a structured way to guide others through transformation—while doing the work yourself.

Because Something Needs to Change—Together

It’s easier to journey when we’re not alone

We live in a world of shallow fixes and fragmented relationships. EHJ creates space for something different: honest conversations, personal integration, and mutual growth. The program is rooted in the Hero’s Journey narrative and combines psychology, storytelling, and group dynamics to help people become more whole—individually and collectively. You don’t need to be a therapist, pastor, or expert. You just need to be willing.

“Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, it invites every human to embark on a personal journey inward.”

📚 WHAT THE GROUP LOOKS LIKE

An EHJ group runs for 12 weeks, each focused on a stage of the Hero’s Journey. The group size should be 4–8 people, and while it’s structured, it’s not rigid. Here’s the gist:

Weekly Sessions (1–1.5 hrs): Follow a proven session format with check-ins, discussion, a group activity, and self-assigned homework.
Rotating Facilitators: To decentralize authority and foster mutual leadership, facilitators rotate (as possible).
Roles: Organizer, Facilitator, Host, Participants—and optionally, an “Ego-Checker” to help hold the group to the guidelines.
Final Week Closure: The group “dies” in Week 12 with a funeral—a symbolic letting go of the group as it was. What happens next is up to each group.

Each week is an invitation to wrestle with real life—identity, fear, truth, courage—not to perfect yourself, but to integrate the parts of you that make you whole.

It’s not self-help in the way we’ve come to expect it. It’s an invitation to look inward, to step into your own story, and to rediscover the courage it takes to face yourself honestly.”

Contextual and Customizable

🧭 WHO IS IT FOR?

EHJ can be used in a variety of contexts:

  • Personal growth and self-discovery
  • Faith communities and spiritual formation
  • Recovery, sobriety, and healing journeys
  • Men’s or women’s groups, youth programs
  • Mental health and wellness groups
  • Leadership and team development

Each participant decides their own boundaries, context, and commitment. But no matter the setting, the focus remains the same: honesty, self-responsibility, and mutual respect.

Week 0 – PARTICIPANT INTRODUCTION

Before the first official week, EHJ offers a flexible self-guided starting point: Week 0. It’s not required, but it helps.

This is a space to begin reflecting—not performing. You’ll get a feel for the kind of personal work EHJ invites: practices like journaling, reflection, archetype exploration, and naming your inner starting point.

‣ A host location (in-person or online)
‣ People committed to showing up
‣ One person to organize and initiate the schedule
